Why this speaker?
Ali R. Babaoğlan is a visionary entrepreneur and technology evangelist from Turkey.
He graduated as a Computer Engineer with four years Full Scholarship Honour in June 2008. Before his graduation, he was chosen into Top 75 Students of EMEA by IBM and was invited to IBM Zurich Innovation Lab for innovation education. This event was named BSRE 2008 (Best Student Recognition Event) which held in Zurich, Switzerland at July 2008.
While studying in university, he started to work with different technology companies in Ankara as a part-time worker for no salary to develope himself. After nearly two years work experience in Ankara Technocity, Babaoğlan started to write technical articles for different computer magazines like BYTE, PC WORLD, PCNET and PC MAGAZINE.
In September 2007, he started to work with Microsoft after his internship in June 2007. With his one year part-time job experience in Microsoft Turkey as a Student Partner, he had worked for community management and marketing evangelism. After this experience, he was chosen the Best Student Partner of 2007 – 2008 term among all Turkey's Student Partners because of his succes in events and marketing area.
He was also worked with Microsoft USA Office Developer Team to develop the service pack of Microsoft Office 2007 for six months.
After his graduation, he was selected in the Turkey’s first National Information Technology team by National Education Ministry of Turkey and attend to Europe Skill 2008 Contest in Information & Communication Technology area for the name of Turkey as a Microsoft Specialist, this event was named EuroSkills 2008 which was held in Rotterdam, Netherland.
He has shared information in Academical Informatics'08, Academical Informatics'09, Informatics'07, Informatics'08, XII. Internet in Turkey, XIII. Internet in Turkey and XIV. Internet in Turkey events as an invited speaker.
He is also creator and manager of Marro.ws which was the first invited Turkish start-up to Next’09 event in 6 May, 2009. Also he was the first invited Turkish Speaker of Next events which arranged in Kampnagel, Hamburg every year. After this great start the project Marro.ws was included to the Ursinus University's syllabus in USA and it is still in the program of Ursinus University.
He has worked in the Academical Network & Information Center (ULAKBİM) department of The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) as a Business Developer of European Commission projects for five months. He has also worked as a Client Manager of Public Sector Accounts for IBM Turkey in IBM dotCom Sales team for a year between 2009 - 2010.
Now Babaoğlan is working in Hewlett-Packard Turkey's software team as the Technical Responsible of BTO.
Also Babaoğlan is a student of Bilkent University's Master of Business Administration program.
Babaoğlan is the winner of JCI's Ten Outstanding People of World (TOYP) Individual Achievement Category award in Turkey'09.
